Limestone County news, Alabama news.

Authorities in Alabama have charged a mother they accuse of leaving her son unattended as she went "dumpster diving" on Saturday.

Elizabeth Anne Case, 36, left her son alone in the car at about 10 p.m. and went "dumpster diving" in Limestone and Madison Counties for nearly eight hours.

The mother who has a history with drug addiction returned home at around 5:40 a.m. and left the infant in the locked car. It was only until her mother woke her up at 1:30 p.m. that she remembered that her son was still inside the vehicle.

The two women then placed the baby into the shower and called 911. The infant was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Before her murder charges, Case was out on bail for robbery.
