A 38-year-old man accused of killing his wife is now accused of killing his four children.
Michael Jones had been suspected of death for several weeks, but was only formally charged on Monday.
His wife Casei Jones, 32, was found dead near Brantley County, Georgia. The remains of his four children were found the next day.
Jones and his four children, Cameron Bowers, 10, Preston Bowers, 5, Mercalli Jones, 2, and Aiyana Jones, 1, had not been seen for six weeks.
The detectives think he killed the two older children by strangulation.
About two weeks later, Michael Jones killed his two youngest children by drowning them, the affidavit said. He then left the bodies in their Summerfield home for a few weeks before placing them in his van and keeping them there until his trip to Georgia, according to the affidavit.
According to the affidavit, Jones told the investigators that during an argument, his wife had seized a baseball bat. He testified that he took his stick and hit it several times, according to the affidavit.
