The man accused of killing two students at a university in North Carolina and injuring four others in their classrooms in April pleaded guilty to two counts of first degree murder.

Riley Howell, 21, of Waynesville, killed in the April 30 attack on a UNC class in Charlotte, attacked Trystan shooter Andrew Terrell and saved the lives of other students, police said . Ellis Parlier, 19, was also killed in the anthropology lecture hall.

Terrell also pleaded guilty on Thursday to four counts of attempted murder and releasing a firearm on educational property.

Terrell had faced charges related to the April 30 shootout while his classmates had gathered in a conference room.
