Woman stabbed to death from her car's window as she tried to help a poor person

A Maryland woman was stabbed to death by an unidentified man when she rolled down her car window to hand money to a woman holding a sign asking for help.

Jacquelyn Smith, 52, read the emotional "Please help me feed my baby" quote on the cardboard that the woman was holding while she was in her car with two other relatives, and wanted to help. She was in the front passenger seat when she rolled down the window to see an unknown man approaching, and instead of thanking her he tried to steal the wallet leading to a struggle before he plunged a knife into her chest.

The man and woman fled the scene, and Smith was rushed to the hospital where she died.

The woman who was holding a baby appeared to be in her 20s, wearing a jacket, and the attacker, in the 30s, is about 6 feet tall with a goatee.
