Camas news, Washington news.

A 47-year-old Washington woman indicted with the fatal shooting of her husband last Sunday admitted to police that she acted in self-defense because "he was trying to kill me."

According to news outlets, Stephanie Westby is facing murder charge following the death of her estranged husband Joseph Westby, 51-year-old, at their house in Camas.

A few minutes before the tragedy, Stephanie called the police to report that "her husband was threatening to kill her and attack her, and she acted in self-defense," according to her lawyer.

Once there, police found the victim dead with an apparent gunshot wound.

During the investigation, the suspect insisted that her husband attacked her and tried to kill her amid an escalated argument.
