An investigation is ongoing by Philadelphia authorities after a 28-year-woman was shot in the face late Tuesday night in the presence of her 6-month-old son.
Police arrived at a rooming house located in the 5400 blocks of Stewart Street after they received a call reporting a shooting there. They found the unidentified victim lying in a pool of blood with a bullet wound in the face. Her 6-month-old boy was next to her, according to officials.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital and was pronounced dead a few hours later.
Neighbors said that they heard an argument between the victim and what they believe was a male voice. They heard one gunshot, then they heard someone run down the steps, according to Chief Inspector Scott Small stated.
