New York City news, New York news.

An unlicensed driver has killed a toddler in her stroller when he tried to make a wild turn and lost control on Tuesday.

Kier Boneparte, 22, of Staten Island was charged with reckless driving, failure to yield and driving with no license and no insurance.

"It's sad," the suspect's stepfather said. "I can't say much about it. Accidents happen... He was trying to make a turn and he was going too fast."

The crash left no chance of survival for the victim, 20-month-old Djeneba Magassa, who succumbed to her injuries: "I picked the baby up but its whole body was broken," said a witness.

Bonaparte has been arrested 17 times before mostly for marijuana possession. His next court appearance is slated for Wednesday.
