22 injured when deck collapsed in Wildwood

New Jersey authorities said that at least 22 people were wounded on Saturday evening when a deck collapsed at a home.

The incident occurred in the 200 blocks of East Baker Avenue at about 6 p.m. Emergency crews and more than a dozen firefighters responded to the scene. The debris was scattered in front of a home and on the sidewalk.

According to the Cape May Regional Health System, 21 people were treated for injuries including three children. Some of them were immediately released. And one of the injured was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

"I could hear people over there calling for help," said June Cheeseman, a neighbor. "We just wanted to come out and say a prayer."
