Man hog-ties pharmacist, steals prescription drugs

A Burbank man has been taken into custody after he allegedly attacked a pharmacist and hog-tied him in order to steal prescription medications.

Andrew Kerr, 35, has been charged with two counts of aggravated kidnapping and one count of aggravated robbery after he broke into a pharmacy on the 3500 blocks of East New York Street armed with a BB gun and wearing a hood and mask to conceal his identity. He then tied the hands and feet of the pharmacist and hid him behind the counter and took his time stealing roughly 25 bottles of drugs, according to authorities.

"It is alleged that Mr. Kerr armed himself, concealed his identity and threatened a man trying to make an honest living just get his hands on illegal narcotics," said Robert Berlin, DuPage County State's Attorney.
