A man was killed in a hit-and-run while trying to change his car's tire.
The incident occured Saturday evening at about 6:40 p.m. on the busy Brooklyn road, more exactly on Shore Parkway at E 28th street in Sheepshead Bay.
The victim's name was withheld pending family notification. He was apparently a 65-year-old man. He was struck while changing a tire on the road. Emergency workers tend to him but he reportedly died at Coney Island Hospital.
The vehicle that hit the victim was a white minivan with Pennsylvania plates. The minivan was found nearby, abondoned.
Authorities are now searching for the hit-and-run suspect who fled the scene after the tragic incident, and abondoned his vehicle.
