A California megachurch pastor has taken his own life after a struggle with suicidal thoughts on Monday night, church officials announced.
Jarrid Wilson, 30-year-old, was known for his impassioned sermons about mental health issues and a pastor with the Harvest Christian Fellowship Church in Riverside.
"Jarrid also repeatedly dealt with depression and was very open about his ongoing struggles," pastor Greg Laurie said. "He wanted to especially help those who were dealing with suicidal thoughts. Tragically, Jarrid took his own life."
On social media, Wilson posted his state of mind hours before his suicide: "Loving Jesus doesn't always cure suicidal thoughts, loving Jesus doesn't always cure depression."
