Pleasant Valley news, New York news.

An upstate New York woman has been mauled to death by her own dogs in her home, according to the state police.

Arlene Renna, 67, was found dead in her living room by her husband as he returned home on Saturday at around 4 p.m.

Police said that the wounds she sustained were consistent with dog bites. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

A judge will determine what happens with the dogs that were taken by the Dutchess County SPCA.

"Arlene was the kindest, most gentle, giving and wonderful woman," the victim's ex-husband said in a Facebook post. "There was no better mother, no better grandmother."

Renna worked as a social worker for nonprofit parenting education services.
