The Indiana stepmother accused of killing a 10-year-old girl had reportedly confessed to the crime and gave investigators more details about the motive.
Amanda Carmack, 34, surrendered to authorities days after Skylea Carmack went missing. She told investigators that she strangled her to death with both hands because she was very angry she took one of her sibling's charm bracelet.
"She started choking her with her hands then she thinks she tied something around her neck," the affidavit said.
Autopsy results showed that Skylea was strangled with a pair of pants "tied very tight" around her neck. The body of the teen was found in a plastic bag inside a shed on the family's home.
Carmack was charged with murder and strangulation as well as neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
