A newly released convicted murderer and a MS-13 gang member were arrested last weekend traveling to the border with the migrant caravan.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials, the Border Patrol agents were alerted to a man trying to enter the country east of Calexico Port of entry, on Saturday at 6:09 p.m. He was 29-year-old Jose Villalobos-Jobel, a Honduras "active gang member" of the notorious "MS-13" criminal organization. He was being held pending a repatriation hearing.

Hours later, three people were arrested while attempting to cross the border illegally east of San Ysidro Port of Entry. One of them, Miguel Angel Ramirez, was released from jail in Honduras four months earlier, and had been serving 10 years for homicide and 3 years for robbery.
