Nashville news, Tennessee news.

A Tennessee man accused of grabbing a 14-year-old girl on a street in a popular tourist destination was approached by his father and bystanders, police said.

Eric Craig, 38, was held until the officers arrived. Police said he had caught the teenager on Broadway near many honky-tonk bars in Nashville.

Craig was charged with assault, according to an affidavit relating to his arrest. He said he grabbed the teenager by the shoulder and swung him to face him.

When the officers arrived, they said that the girl's father had Craig on the floor.

Craig told the police that he "just wanted to tell her that she looked good," when the teenager's father and passers-by caught him, the affidavit said.

A spokeswoman for the Nashville Metropolitan Area Police Department said Craig was homeless.
