New York City news, New York news.

A hate crime suspect was smiling as he stood before the judge on Sunday morning in connection with a spree of attacks that targeted white people.

Todd Lyons, 33, was charged with felony and misdemeanor assaults for at least three recent attacks he allegedly committed as he was free on bond on two previous incidents.

Lyons was accused of hitting people he randomly chose using his fists, wood, and bricks. His victims were all white people walking peacefully on the streets.

After attacking people, he fled the scene leaving them bloody and severely injured.

"Get off the street honky!" he yelled at a 58-year-old man he punched in the face.

Police believe that Lyons attacked at least seven people during the last few weeks.
