An Atlanta attorney has been arrested after he allegedly ran over a man whom he accused of throwing a golf ball at his Mercedes.
Bryan Keith Schmitt, 47, was charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of Hamid Jahangard, 60, an Iranian born real estate investor.
The incident unfolded on July 30, when Jahangard allegedly threw a golf ball at the 2011 luxury sedan driven by the attorney. Prosecutors say that Schmitt made a U-turn and confronted the man, running over him. The victim died three days later after suffering a massive skull fracture.
Schmitt told authorities that he accidentally ran over Jahangard but investigators believe that he hit the man while driving at high speed.
