San Diego news, California news.

According to the authorities, at least six detainees were wounded, two seriously, during a riot in a state prison in San Diego.

Captain Thomas Shoots of Cal Fire in San Diego said the riot erupted shortly after 8 pm in a yard at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Institution.

Shoots tells the San Diego Union-Tribune Union that a hundred prisoners were in the yard at the time. He added that two detainees had been injured enough to be taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Fighting and riots have injured several detainees this year.

Three were seriously injured when seven other prisoners attacked them in April. And 10 were wounded, one seriously, during a riot in February.
