Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a 40-year-old woman who had a political disagreement while volunteering at the Minnesota State Fair.
The unidentified accuser said another woman had groped her while she was working on the Republican Party's Minnesota stand during the event. the suspect left the cabin after the alleged assault around 8:50 Friday night.
Brooke Blakey, spokesperson for the State Fair police, told the Star Tribune newspaper that the alleged victim was "fumbled ... over the clothes."
The President of the Republican Party of Minnesota, Jennifer Carnahan, tweeted Friday night: "Violence is never the answer ..."
The Minnesota Democrat-Farmer-Labor Party had no immediate comment on Carnahan's claims.
