Huntsville news, Texas news.

A 48-year-old Texas death row prisoner convicted of kidnapping and killing a Houston college student in 1998 is expected to die by lethal injection today.

On December 1998, Melissa Trotter, 19, was seen for the last time exiting her Conroe community college before authorities found her remains dumped in a forest almost 70 miles north of Houston.

The massive investigation led to gather evidence that linked Larry Swearingen to the murder. He was convicted in 2000 and is considered as a sociopath who had previous criminal problems and also known for his hatred toward women.

During all these years, Swearingen has argued that he is innocent: "We'd all like to know who done it," he said during a 2011 interview.
