Dallas news, Texas news.

A South Dallas woman has turned herself in to authorities for her alleged role in the murder of a barbershop owner on Aug. 10.

Alexis Bowman was released after posting $500,000 bond at the Dallas County Jail after an arrest warrant was posted for her in connection with the shooting death of Fredrick Myers.

The 42-year-old victim was very well known in the South Dallas community for helping the homeless and those in need of jobs. A vigil was held the day following his murder outside his barbershop.

"He's been that way his whole life. He's always been a giving person," said his mother, Betty Myers-Davis. "He's always been a sweetheart. Never had any problems. He's been a good child."

The motive of the fatal shooting is still unclear.
