A father was charged after strangling and slicing the throat of his 15-year-old daughter.
Joshua Burgess, 32, of Wesley Chapel, was charged with first degree murder on Sunday in Union County, said WSOC-TV.
The channel reported that prosecutors had not explained what had led to this horrific crime.
The girl was visiting Burgess when she was killed.
"The investigation began at about 9:24 am [Sunday] after Burgess entered the sheriff's office lobby and informed a dispatcher that he was there to surrender," the Union County Sheriff's Office announced. in a press release.
Burgess went on to provide additional details about the people who were killed and where, according to the press release.
