New Jersey man charged with brother's family slayings

Officials in New Jersey filed charges of murder against a man whose brother was found dead along with his wife and two children in their mansion that was set on fire.

Paul Caneiro, 51, was charged Thursday with four counts of murder in the deaths of his brother, Keith, 50, Keith's wife Jennifer and their two children, ages 11 and 8 years old. He was also charged with aggravated arson, possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose.

Caneiro has been in custody since he was accused of sitting fire to his home hours before his brother's mansion, about 10 miles away, was set on fire. His lawyer maintained his client's innocence saying that he was devastated by the news of his brother and his family's deaths."

Funeral services for the family are planned Sunday.
