Chicago news, Illinois news.

A Chicago teen girl was seriously injured after a stray bullet hit her bedroom's window early Saturday morning.

According to Chicago Police, the shooting took place near the 92nd and Ellis at about 4:20 a.m. Two suspects were seen opening fire from the sidewalk before a bullet flew into the Burnside neighborhood home where the 12-year-old unidentified victim lives.

She was transported to Comer Children's Hospital suffering multiple injuries including one in her left shoulder.

On Saturday, the girl has had surgery and is expected to do another one after the stray bullet stroke her stomach, "rupturing her lung, liver and main artery, which all have been repaired," the victim's mother told reporters.
