A Kentucky mother and grandmother have been taken into custody after police found a newborn covered in bugs on the floorboard of a minivan during a police check.
32-year-old Rebecca Fultz and her grandmother, 69-year-old Charolette Simpson were arrested and charged with first-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12 years old, resisting arrest and menacing.
Cops discovered the 2-week-old newborn inside the filthy car that had no air conditioner and was filled with trash. The infant was covered with bugs and ants with a soiled diaper, according to the Laurel County Sheriff's Office. The grandmother was reportedly driving without a valid license.
The baby was rushed to the hospital for dehydration.
