Authorities in Texas found a father's body in a lake Friday after his 3-year-old daughter, found sleeping alone on a boat, told police officers, "Daddy went swimming."
A local saw the boat drifting on Granbury Lake, discovered the girl on board and alerted the authorities.
The girl's father put the boat in the water from the boat launch at Granbury City Beach around 5 pm. Thursday, and the two never came back.
The Hood County Sheriff's Office said the girl was "in good condition". His identity has not been revealed.
Many agencies searched for the girl's father before finding a man's body about 20 meters from the boat, NBC DFW reported.
We did not know why or how he ended up in the lake. The identity of the man was not available Friday night.
