Grand County news, Utah news.

A 13-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after he was badly bitten by a bear while sleeping in a Utah campground.

The incident occurred at the Dewey Bridge Campground when the animal broke into the boy's campsite and bit him on the face and ear causing him serious injuries.

The search for the bear continues as the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Wildlife services try to find the bear to euthanize it.

The crews are "using dogs and traps in an effort to capture the bear" that has to be euthanized since it attacked people.

The camping was closed on Friday morning following the incident. Authorities urged campers and hikers to be aware in that area because bears can become very aggressive in their search for food.
