Texas gunman who killed one and injured two on Thanksgiving day arrested

El Paso Police has arrested the suspect accused of killing the father of a family and wounding his wife and son on Thanksgiving day.

Jason A. Gibson, 38, was arrested by U.S. Marshals and Daytona Beach Police "after a brief chase" Tuesday afternoon. His photo was distributed earlier by police on social media and he was identified as "violent fugitive from Texas", some news outlets described him as "armed and dangerous." His crimes include homicide in Texas and kidnapping in New Mexico.

On November 22, 2018, the suspect allegedly broke into the home of the Salas family, at 8324 Signal Peak at about 3:50p.m. He shot Juan Salas, 58, dead and critically injured Lorenza Salas, 58 and the 24-year-old son, Johnathan Salas.
