Police now say: man killed in Alabama shooting was not the gunman

5years ago

Emantic Fitzgerald Bradford Jr was a 21-year-old black man who "loved life, and loved people" according to his mother. And might have been trying to protect others in the mall when he was fatally shot by an Alabama police officer on Thursday.

But on Friday, police said that he was probabily not the gunman, and that he may have been involved in some aspect of an altercation in the mall. But again, he is "likely" not the one who fired at two teenagers sending him to hospital.

"We regret that our initial media release was not totally accurate, but new evidence indicates that it was not" said the police. The Bradford's attorney, Benjamin L. Crump thinks that police "jumped to conclusions" that he was a criminal because he was a black man with a gun.
