A shark has attacked a 16-year-old girl who was boogie boarding outside her hotel in Florida.
The girl sustained bites to her foot and ankle following the attack. She was spotted by the animal in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean off Amelia Island on Friday.
She was somehow able to free her foot and reach the pool area of the hotel resort. She has received several stitches for her nonlife-threatening injuries.
Sheriff Bill Leeper said that the attack reminds everybody that sharks exist in nearly every resort and beach and that people should know that these animals like to feed in the early hours of the morning and late afternoon so that they should be more careful in that time.
