Ellis County news, Texas news.

According to prosecutors, a heartless seminary student accused of leaving her newborn daughter to her fate has been sentenced to 5 years behind bars in connection to the "horrific and inhumane" death.

On Wednesday, Natali Annell Weaver, 21-year-old, has entered a guilty plea to manslaughter and abuse of corpse charges following the murder of her newborn baby girl in April 2018. The grisly crime took place at the campus of the Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie.

Police arrived at the scene for a welfare check. As they entered Weaver's dormitory, they discovered a large amount of blood on the ground. They were able to recover the corpse of a female newborn inside a plastic bag tossed in a trash can with her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck.
