Human hand and foot found inside alligator stomach

5years ago

Tampa news, Florida news.

Human body parts were discovered inside an alligator's stomach after a witness reported seeing the animal feeding on the severed body.

The foot and hand recovered from the alligator's stomach are believed to belong to a man, identified as 45-year-old Michael Ford. The victim was found earlier drowned in a Fort Meade canal in Polk County, about 60 miles east of Tampa.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission had trapped and killed the reptile which was 12 feet long and weighed 450 pounds. Earlier last month, a 5-year-old was attacked by an alligator in the town while she was swimming with her grandfather. Authorities urge people to be careful in lakes and canals and to never approach the animal.
