One dead and 6 injured including children after shootout in north Houston

A shootout occured Sunday in the 4500 block of Yale Street in north Houston during a block party, and has left one dead and six injured.

Both children and parents were at the party when, according to witnesses, someone tried to join the party but refused to be searched by security there and left. Soon after, a gunman showed up and fired 15 to 20 bullets, but it is not clear if it is the same person.

The shootout left one person dead at the scene, two women seriously injured, a 13-year-old grazed by a bullet, one person shot in the leg, and two girls wounded from flying glass. Five of them have been taken to Doctor's Hospital and are expected to be OK.

Three suspects have reportedly been arrested.
