Fresno news, California news.

A Fresno man opened fire at a 10-month-old girl on June 23 as an act of revenge from her mother who had rejected him.

The horrifying incident unfolded at a Fresno house where 23-year-old Marco Antonio Echartea attempted to grab the mother of the child's hand but she refused and pushed him away.

A few moments later, she exited the house with a friend while holding her infant identified as Fayth Percy. As the three entered in a vehicle, Echartea started shooting at them: "At some point when he got close, he pulled out a handgun and fired three rounds into the driver's side window, which was up. One of those rounds struck baby Fayth on the side of the head as she was being held by her mother," Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer stated.

Fayth remains in a critical but stable condition.
