A ferry carrying 53 passengers onboard had crashed into a dock it San Francisco's Ferry Building Friday at around 2 p.m.
"The San Francisco Vessel" was captured on video approaching and then hitting the dock . The boat's hull was damaged. The crash caused panic among people who were dining and shopping at the waterfront attraction. Coast Guard spokesman Chris Shih said that the investigation will focus on mechanical issues and other factors.
Two people were injured, one of them treated at the scene for a bruised hip, while the other suffered injuries to their back but refused further medical treatment. A Golden Gate Bridge District said that the cause of the incident may be mechanical.
