Kalamazoo news, Michigan news.

The bodies of a woman and her twin daughters were recovered from waters in the Kalamazoo River, according to news reports.

The 44-year-old woman drove into the river with her daughters after letting two other girls she was carrying in the vehicle live and continued her way into the river.

"This is just a tragedy for our community," Public Safety Chief Karianne Thomas said. "It's a question here in Kalamazoo that we're all asking. We don't have an answer."

The body of the woman and one of her daughters were recovered from inside the car, while the third victim was found the next day after further research in the river. The investigation continues to identify the victims and determine a motive for the incident.
