Mobile news, Alabama news.

Mobile County Treasurer Phil Benson said that homosexuals were offensive and he saw no problem in a recent online commentary that used an offensive term for homosexuals.

Benson posted this remark on a Republican Party County Facebook page, which contained an article about a Colorado baker who had been sued for refusing to make a cake for a woman's sexual transition.

The GOP page has since deleted Benson's comment.

Benson says that homosexuals can be "very offensive" to him.

Benson was elected as a Republican.
