According to Los Angeles police, an officer on leave who allegedly shot a man at a Costco store in Southern California would have no contact with the public during a criminal investigation and a separate service review.
The shooting that caused the death of Kenneth French and parents seriously injured Friday night. Rick Shureih, French's cousin, told Riverside Press-Enterprise that the 32-year-old was a "nice giant" with a mental disability.
The investigators said an officer from the Los Angeles Police Department, outside of his hours of service, claimed that Frenchmen had attacked him without provocation.
Norma Eisenman, a police officer in Los Angeles, said Monday that the officer, who had not been identified, was given administrative duties during investigations.
