Colorado authorities have arrested the suspected murderer of an active duty soldier who was found dead in 1987.

Michael Whyte, 58, was arrested at his home in connection with the murder of Darlene Krashoc, 20, who was found strangled behind a restaurant. DNA evidence recovered from the crime scene led to the arrest of Whyte after authorities were able to predict a composite image of him in 2017. "Individual predictions were made for the suspect's ancestry, eye color, hair color, skin color, freckling, and face shape," according to Colorado Springs Police Department.

The suspect is under police custody in the Adams County Detention Facility. He faces first-degree murder charges.
