Police officers said a fatal shooting happened in the Ridgeview Place Apartment complex northeast Colorado Springs.
Around 9 p.m, Friday they responded to shooting reports in the apartment complex near North Academy and North Carefree before learning about the victim, a woman in het 30's found shot outside one of the apartments.
According to witnesses there had been an argument between the victim and the shooter, then several gunshots were fired, a pause, and then other gunshots. The victim was left lying on the ground with neighbors trying to perform CPR until paramedics arrival. She was pronounced dead shortly after.
The suspect left the the shooting scene in a brown or black Chevrolet Impala.
