Teen charged with murder of sister's boyfriend

A Sacramento teen boy was booked into jail in connection to the fatal shooting of his sister's boyfriend amid a fight late Thursday morning, police said.

Sacramento County Sheriff's Department confirmed that the deadly shooting has taken place in the 9100 blocks of Pershing Avenue in Orangevale around 10 a.m.

Officials received an emergency call reporting a family dispute and shooting inside the home. Upon their arrival, Jeremy Shumaker, 22-year-old was found severely bleeding in the floor with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital but has not survived his injury.

The brother of the victim's girlfriend, 17, was arrested and charged with murder. His identity was not publicly revealed because of his age.
