The Colorado man who had confessed to killing pregnant wife and two daughters was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the killings.
Chris watts was convicted of strangling his wife, Shanann Watts, and smothering his dauthers, ages 3 and 4 back in August. The bodies were found on the property of an oil driller where he used to work.
Sandra Rzucek had always suspected her son-in-law had a role in the disappearances of her daughter and granddaughters, she called police to report he was acting "weird" telling people he had to go to work. A police report also adds that she felt he was going out to pour oil on the bodies to dispose of them somewhere.
Text messages in the released report detail a failing marriage prior to the crime which can be considered a motive.
