a man was shot to death by Wayne County Sheriff's deputy Friday afternoon on a freeway north of downtown Detroit.
The shooting occurred about 4:30 p.m. on the westbound Interstate 94 ramp to Interstate 75.
the deputy officer was in was in a private ambulance transporting a prisoner when the shooting occurred; the inmate was identified as a 23-years old male.
All lanes and both the left and right shoulders are closed. Traffic delays are expected for the next few hours.
