Investigators are still trying to piece together the shooting events that occured Monday at Mercy Hospital on the South Side of Chicago city.
The gunman who came to kill Dr.Tamara O'Neal after she had recently called off their engagement, ended up killing two others and himself. One witness recalls the shooter standing and shooting her more than three times before he turned the semi-automatic handgun on police, killing officier Samuel Jimenez, and Dayna Less, a first-year resident in the hospital's pharmacy.
Juan Lopez fired more than 30 shots and had reloaded his weapon put the gun to his head and killed himself, according to police.
Investigators said the gunman had not a criminal record, and was an empoyee with the Chicago Housing Authority during the last nine months.
