A Michigan husband has turned himself in to authorities after he fatally shot his wife who refused to give him a cigarette.
Vashon Flowers, 46-year-old, was charged with murder in connection to the death of his wife, Jamie Thomas-Flowers. The incident unfolded last Sunday when the suspect asked his wife for a cigarette, something she declined to give him since they both decided to quit smoking.
The husband then left the house for a moment then returned, shot his wife multiple times in the torso and turned himself in to police.
The suspect has a history of domestic abuse and violence according to court records. He was booked into Muskegon County Jail without bond. His next hearing is scheduled for June 3.
