Hundreds of demonstrators marched to Alabama Capitol to protest the state's new abortion ban.

Hundreds of protesters chanted "My body, my choice!" and "vote them!" as they gathered Sunday evening, a few days after Governor Kay Ivey signed the virtual ban on abortion.

The law of Alabama, must come into force in six months. It prohibits abortion in almost all cases unless it is necessary because of the health of the mother.

According to Planned Parenthood and the American Civil Liberties, their intention to sue the state in court to try to prevent the application of the law.

Alabama and other states apply abortion restrictions in the hope of securing the adoption by the US Supreme Court Supreme Court of a 1973 Conservative ruling on the decision to legalize abortion abortion throughout the country.
