The remains of a West Virginia teen girl who was reported missing since May 8 were found by authorities late Thursday night on a steep cliff near the top of a mountain while her mother's boyfriend was taken into custody in connection to the case.
Morgan County Sheriff K.C. Bohrer told reporters that 41-year-old Andy McCauley was arrested Thursday and charged with murder just a few hours after the body of Riley Crossman, 15, was found "positioned over an embankment in a rural mountain road section of Tuscarora Pike near the mountain top."
McCauley was booked into Morgan County Jail. Meanwhile, it remains unclear if he had a lawyer to speak on his behalf.
The cause and motive of the killing were not provided by authorities at this time.
