Vandalia news, Missouri news.

A Missouri mother was convicted of the killing of her baby boy who was found dead inside her northeast Missouri house just a few hours after his birth.

Roberta Baker faces now a class B felony abuse or neglect resulting in death after Circuit Judge Wendy Wexler Horn found her guilty in the death of the infant, Elijah in February 2018, media sources said.

According to Baker claims, she gave birth to her premature baby boy alone in Vandalia. She argued that she didn't ask for medical intervention because she was afraid to be jailed due to active warrants filed for her.

Autopsy results confirmed that Elijah died from a high amount of methamphetamine that was found in his blood.

Baker is expected to be sentenced on July 19.
