American tourist killed by remote island tribe

6years ago

Police revealed Wednesday that an American tourist has been killed by a cut off from the world tribe known for targeting outsiders.

The victim was identified as John Allen Chau, a 27-year-old who described himself as a soccer coach, traveller and writer. He used to post pictures of his trips to India and elsewhere online.

"Adventure awaits. So do leeches" was his final Instagram post on Nov.2 as he planned to visit the heavily restricted Island by the Indian government, since its residents are known to attack outsiders by arrows. Last Wednesday, Chau was taken to them by fishermen as he wanted, and they wached as the tribals attacked him, tied a rope around his neck and dragged his body.

The victim's body hasn't been recovered yet while the fishermen are being in custody.
