Los Angeles news, California news.

A California mother had been fatally struck by street racing cars as she drove to pick up her 6-year-old daughter.

Bethany Holguin, 23, was killed in a hit-and-run crash that also caused her brother serious injuries. He was transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

The incident unfolded on Saturday at about 11:30 p.m. when Holguin along with her 20-year-old brother were riding in her 2005 Toyota Camry. Suddenly, a 2005 Infiniti FX35 blew through a stop sign followed by a red Sedan. After crashing into Holguin's car, the two vehicles hit other cars that were parked nearby. The drivers then fled the scene in the red Sedan.

"The car was really damaged. I just saw her and she just asked for help. But she was really bad," a witness told reporters.
